Other Services Conducted by the Organization:

• Engaged in promoting the use of compost gas as an alternative energy in order to mitigate environmental destruction and pollution.
• Each female member bearing up to 2 children is provided a certain amount as post-delivery expenses and each male and female member opting for family planning after two children is also provided certain amount to encourage family planning.
• Engaged in providing certain amount as relief loans to its members or their family members in case of sudden disaster or accident.
• In cooperation with various consumer shops, discount cards are being provided to its members to save them from the rising inflation.
• Continuously engaged in providing cooperative education to the members living in the premises of the organization.
• There is also a Member’s Relief Fund programme being run by the organization in the event of the death of its members. Under this, a deceased member’s family is provided a sum of Rs. 10,000 as expenses for posthumous rites.

Promotional Activity:

• With a view to providing qualitative and easily accessible education, a secondary level cooperative school named Vijay Samudayik Siksha Sadan is being operated with the primary initiative of the organization.

On an annual basis, this school provides scholarship to 92 students belonging to the suppressed, indigenous, conflict-affected and HIV-infected community.

• Following the slogan “Information and Communication, Basis for People’s Empowerment”, the Vijay Community Information and Communication Cooperation Center was established in 2059 BS (2002 AD) and the Vijay F.M. came into operation.

Socioeconomic Activity

• With the slogan of “VYCCU shall introduce alphabets, all members shall be literate” , it has been running informal educational programme (Adult Education) using its own resources for quite some years now.
• Health Cooperative Organization is being promoted as part of the holistic development of its members.
• By identifying the children of its financially poor share holders, it also provides long-term scholarships to 30 children from the oppressed and indigenous communities, arranging complete expenditure for them up to SLC-level education.
• It has been constantly sharing information on a global basis.
• With assistance from the District Animal Husbandry Office Nawalparasi, it has established and promoted the Community Animal Breeding Center and as part of the aim to prepare 1 female JTA animal worker in each VDC, it has so far prepared female JTA members in 2 VDCs.
• For the past 5 years, it has been conducting commercial and skill-based training programmes annually for 100 persons in cooperation with the Commercial and Skill Development Training, CTEVT and District Cottage Office.
• In cooperation with local VDCs and municipalities, it has been engaged in participating in enforcing programmes like open defecation free area, complete literacy and complete cleanliness.
• Dodheni, an area inhabited by low-income members, has been declared a pocket for goat-farming and a unified programme is being run for this purpose (a unified arrangement of training, education, monitoring, medicine, fodder, grass development, shed-building, investment and market.)
• Collateral-free loan being provided to its low-income members and related technical assistance market being arranged.
• There is a provision of VYCCU Light Loan along with solar bulbs, and there is an aim to free all its members from load-shedding within the next one year.
